Testimonials

Ana Ramos
Marshal, Reno Municipal Court
I recently received help from the Builders Association Charity. I needed a bigger door in my bathroom to assist my handicapped son, Benny. Benny is 20 years old and has cerebral palsy. He is in a wheelchair and until just recently we couldn't get him into the bathroom as the door was too narrow to let the wheelchair in. I was referred to BAC by the Sierra Regional Center and although I was expecting a long arduous process, I was surprised at how quickly BAC responded! BAC in conjunction with Curtis Bros, Inc, installed my new widened bathroom door at no cost to me. I don't have the words to express how this small improvement has changed our lives. Benny can now get to the bathroom by himself and feels more independant. I just wanted to thank BAC and Curtis Bros, Inc. for making my life and my son's life easier.

Shay, Carson City
I truly appreciate the charity's help in getting Kyra to the Heart Institute in Las Vegas last week. The rental car and fuel for this trip were a huge blessing to me and my family. We would not have been able to make this trip without you. Your continued support for my family is appreciated more than you could ever know.

The staff of the
Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation
The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation is honored to work the Builder's Association Charity. Not only has BAC generously assisted our foundation with building supplies and services that we could not afforded otherwise, they have worked closely with us to assist families in need. BAC's generous giving has lighten the burden of many northern Nevada families. As a staff, we find working with them always a pleasant experience and value our relationship with them.

United Blood Services
United Blood Services is truly grateful for the active role the Builders Association Charity has made towards educating our community and its members about the importance of blood and blood products. Not only has the Builders Association Charity assisted United Blood Services in spreading the word about the need for blood, but they also support our blood supply by sponsoring blood drives every two months. The Builders Association Charity’s dedication and commitment to our community blood program has given an opportunity for many families to share another day, another birthday, or another celebration with their friends, family members, neighbors, co-workers and mere acquaintances that have been in need of blood products. There is no substitute for blood so every donation makes a life saving difference.

Attn: Bobbie Merrigan, Executive Director

Dear Bobbie:

As a representative of the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office, and most specifically, the Victim Witness Assistance Center, I would like to thank the Builders Association Charity for the assistance you’ve provided Victims of Crime.

For the last three years, the Builders Association Charity has adopted some of our Victims and their families for Christmas. The majority of the victims adopted, have been children victims of Sexual Abuse, or Domestic Violence. Victims, who have been brave enough to come forward and disclose the abuse, even if the offender was a biological parent. Unfortunately, these victims end up living in very precarious conditions and go through great hardship.

Because of the above, our office sincerely appreciates the efforts that the Builder’s Association Charity, and its members, put into giving these children and their families a wonderful Christmas. One of the families adopted, had a total of 5 children, one grandchild and the mother. The mother, as well as one of the youngest of the children, had been victimized by the mother’s boyfriend. When the offender was arrested, this family ended up homeless, and losing everything they owned. The wish list they submitted for Christmas, included things we take for granted, such as underwear and hairbrushes. The Charity came through with amazing generosity, not just the Wish List, but with gift cards for groceries as well. We cannot express how magical this Christmas was for this family.

In the past, we have also referred other victims to The Builders Association Charity for assistance with their immediate needs. We sincerely appreciate your organization never turning anyone away.

Sincerely,

RICHARD A. GAMMICK
District Attorney
