POLICIES FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
VISION:
The Builders Association Charity exists to assist local families struggling with the physical, financial and emotional adversity as a result of a catastrophic illness or situation.
Although serious childhood diseases are our primary focus, the Builders Association Charity will provide assistance to individuals and/or families, including but not limited to, payment of uncovered medical expenses, travel expenses related to medical treatment, rental of medical equipment, temporary home care, utilities such as electric, gas and water necessary to maintain the home in the event of a catastrophic illness or event. Assistance may include groceries and life necessities for those in need. Assistance may also include the donation of materials, products and/or services.
GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR ASSISTANCE:
Application: All sections of the “Application for Emergency Assistance” must be completed thoroughly, accurately and legibly in order for the Builders Association Charity to review and process the request. Each application is kept on file for a period of 6 months. Should further assistance be requested after this 6 month period, a new application and related documentation must be submitted.

Processing time: Requests for assistance will vary but can be expected to take up to ten business days.
Diagnosis: Each application must be accompanied by a “Letter of Diagnosis” from the attending physician. It must include specific detail regarding the diagnosis, the suggested treatment as well as any pertinent information to help in the review process.
Limits per Family: A maximum of $2,000.00 per family will be provided in a fiscal year. The fiscal year begins on the first date assistance is provided. Any additional assistance above and beyond the $2,000.00 maximum will require a vote of the Board of Trustees.
Eligibility: Applicants must be lawful citizens of the United States and must reside within Northern Nevada, have completed the Application for Emergency Assistance and have the appropriate documentation from his/her attending physician as detailed above.
Receipts: All reimbursement requests must be submitted as originals. No photo copies will be accepted.
