| BUILDER/BAC RESPONSIBILITIES
Participating Builder Responsibilities:
1.1 Will construct and donate one Playhouse with some furnishings to the Builders Association Charity (BAC) which is a 501(C)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Expenses involved in the construction of the Playhouse as well as donations made by subcontractors and supplies, are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
1.1.2 If the floor system of each Playhouse is built on the 8’ X 10’ platform supplied by BAC , BAC will deliver the playhouse to the new owner. The platform is on a minimum of three 4X6 pressure treated wood skids serving as beams. These skids should be considered part of the foundation. Builder may put a removable “skirting board” over them while on display.
1.1.3 The total height of the Playhouse from the bottom of the floor system to the top of the roof should not exceed eight feet for transportation as a unit. This is critical due to transportation obstacles encountered – bridges, overpasses, electrical and telephone wires. This height restriction can be exceeded if the Playhouse is designed and constructed in two or more modules (i.e., removable roof, turret or “crows nest”).
1.1.4 Maximum weight of Playhouse not to exceed 6,000 lbs.
1.1.5 Builder to supply crayon rendering of their creation by May 8, 2007, for the “Kick Off Party.”
1.2.2 Builder to move the playhouse to Summit Mall by July 14, 2007 .
1.3.1 All Playhouse windows shall be safety glazed. Every attempt should be made to consider the unique needs of the child “occupants” of the Playhouse when designing.
1.3.2 If Playhouse design incorporates plumbing or electrical service, it must comply with appropriate building codes and installation standards. Please note inclusion of such is optional!
1.4 Any furniture or furnishings included in the Playhouse will be come the property of buyer.
1.5 A declaration of Value of your donated Playhouse will be placed at the top of the Bidders’ Sheet if submitted by builder.
1.5.1 Exterior of Playhouse must be finished by June 14, 2007 for marketing purposes so that photographs and videos may be taken for inclusion in the Parade of Homes Guide Book and TV ads. Interior must be completed by June 14, 2007 for judging.
Construction Suggestions:
Make use of various surplus materials you may have stored and can’t quite find a use for – odd sized doors and windows, shingles, siding, etc. Ask your subcontractors and suppliers for their donations based on the requirements of your design.
Utilize the ideas engendered by the photographs of Playhouses constructed in various parts of the U.S. to benefit their local charities. Remember that while some of the features may seem extravagant, the very small size of the Playhouses, coupled with the tax deductibility of the materials utilized, facilitate the affordability of the feature and enhance the auction value.
BAC’s Responsibilities

2.2 Conduct and be responsible for the Internet silent auction.
2.3 Finalize the auction by 8:00 PM on June 25, 2007.
