| Adopt-a-Family & Toy Drive |

The spirit of giving can be experienced at the holidays and every day. The Builders Association Charity (BAC) serves many families in our community in dire need of financial, physical and emotional assistance. You can make a difference for a family by adopting them for a year or for a select holiday. (Christmas, Easter, birthdays or even “Back to School” needs).
In 2010, the charity, with generous sponsors, our Adopt a family program assisted 21 families with Christmas Gifts and Grocery Store Gift Cards, which allow families to purchase food for their holiday tables and stocking stuffers for their children. In conjunction with this program the Builders Association Charity’s annual Toy Drive collected more than 140 toys in 2010 and donated them to organizations such as the Northern Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Washoe County Child Protective Services. Many of these children would not have experienced the joy and magic of Christmas with out the generosity of folks just like you.
As responsible business men and women, we understand that we build a stronger community by sharing resources in times of disaster, tragedy or dire need. It is with this philanthropic spirit that we ask your assistance in this endeavor.
BAC is already assisting families with travel expenses to out-of-state facilities for doctor and hospital appointments, medical services not covered by insurance; temporary medical equipment and home care as authorized by a physician. We have repaired cars and purchased tires when families are required to get an ill child to the doctor's office.
Now you can give these families some much needed supplemental support.
Many families survive hand to mouth and do not have extras. Here are some ways you can help:
- Food items for the various holidays
- Clothing for the kids
- Prepaid gasoline cards
- Prepaid phone cards
- Food gift certificates at local markets
- Toys for the holidays
- Wild Island passes for the summer
- Movie tickets for the family
